“Peace is not merely a distant

goal that we seek but a means

by which we arrive at that goal”-

these famous lines by

Martin Luther King,

seem to hold utmost relevance in

today’s world. “Peace is a global

issue – the whole world pleads

and longs for peace”.

We all have conflicts, disputes, squabbles, which need to be sorted out amicably. Creating an issue of small things without staying peaceful would lead to misunderstandings, riots, and breaking of institutions, thereby destroying your inner peace.

Therefore, one of the foremost steps towards becoming a global citizen is thinking of the world as our family and teaching them the Message of Peace. That is what has been promoted by the KHMS GTeam by a variety of acts and works.

The World Peace Day falls on September’ 21st every year. At KHMS, The International Day of Peace was celebrated on September 20, 2015.The day is dedicated to peace, and specifically the absence of war, such as might be occasioned by a temporary ceasefire in a combat zone.We students went on a Sunday to spread the message of love and peace to celebrate Peace Day at Raahgiri, Connaught Place, and got an overwhelmingly amazing support by the people. We also sang the motivational song “We Shall Overcome” there.

We perform all our activities collectively as an institution. So how could we forget our Hansvatika Day Boarding School?? A special assembly was conducted on the international day of peace to make the children aware about the importance of peace in our lives. The students from classes IV and V put forth their views on the need of the world nations to come together and urge for peace for all. The students from Classes I and II spoke peace slogans and made posters with peace logo & symbol.

Our school Principal Ms. Sneh verma inaugurated the peace one day campaign at school by flying kite in the sky on which peace message were written by school students. Students of KHMS wrote peace messages on the kites and flew them high in the sky with great enthusiasm. The whole atmosphere was full of happiness and peace around. Children recorded peace messages, and shouted slogans, “We want Peace in the world. We have a right to Peace.”

The students of Kulachi Global Club of our school, led by the KHMS GTeam and with the assistance of our teachers, spread the message of peace by taking part in a street play. “suraksha”, the street play, preached on how we must be safe on the roads. Because road rage incidents are increasing day by day, people need to understand that no materialistic goods are more important than a person’s life. The play’s enactment at India Habitat Centre has helped us students preach of peace in front of the encouraging audience.

Who do you want to make peace with?

All stakeholders of Kulachi Hansraj Model School celebrated peace day with enthusiasm. We all took out a rally on the street in front of our school. The rickshaw pullers, ice cream sellers and all people whom we met at school joined us in the rally. Now that’s what is an achievement!!
